Identification of Genuine Currency Notes


Microprinting is the production of recognizable patterns or characters in a printed medium at a scale that requires magnification to read with the naked eye. Micro texts are added onto notes to identify genuine currency notes and also make it difficult to reproduce accurately using copiers or scanners. Typically, the text looks like a solid line at a distance.

Micro texts are used on currency, bank cheques, vouchers, and other items of value. It is often combined with other safety techniques such as holograms, void pantographs, prismatic printing, hot stamp foil printing, infrared visible inks or watermarks.
